Company EKOS İnş. Taah. Dan. San. Ve Tic. Ltd. Şti. announced its ambitious project to build a large hotel in Mersin, Turkey. This project envisages the creation of a hotel complex with 246 rooms, designed for a total capacity of 876 beds, which makes it a significant addition to the tourist infrastructure of the region. The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process for this hotel project has now begun. This process is a critical step, as it aims to analyze the potential impact of the construction and operation of the hotel on the natural environment and the local community. According to the documentation submitted by the company to the Mersin authorities, the total cost of the project is estimated at 888 million 477 thousand Turkish liras. This indicates significant investment in the region's economy and the potential to create new jobs.
The planned construction site of the hotel covers a vast area of 131,549 square meters. The location in the sub-region for the preservation and development of culture and tourism underlines the strategic importance of this project for the development of the tourism industry in the region. The project pays special attention to environmental aspects. The area of the planned construction is located in an area of high ecological significance, including a tourist area, an important natural area, as well as an area adjacent to the habitat of the Mediterranean monk seal and a forest area. This implies the need for careful planning and implementation of measures to minimize the impact on these unique and sensitive ecosystems.
